“My Grandmother died in her early 50′s from breast cancer when I was only about 10 years old. Out of nowhere she began to constantly be sick, and finally went to the doctor. After a complete physical, the doctor found cancer in her breasts. The most unfortunate part is if she would have had regular screenings, her cancer could have been easily treated. Instead, by the time it was caught, the cancer had already started to spread and she died within a year of her diagnosis. Because of the suffering I saw my Grandmother go through, I will never go without getting my regular physicals. Even though I joke that “I would probably notice a 3rd breast next to my mosquito bites,” deep down I know the importance of regular screenings. I’ve only had one family member die of this terrible disease, but One is One Too Many.”

“My stepdaughter and I made this picture for the pink ribbon contest. I never had breast cancer, but last year I got another type of cancer. The day I turned 30 I got a letter to go to the doctor. After the visit my doctor called me very worried and told me I have to come to his office A.S.A.P.! The results were not good and I was very shocked to hear that I had cervical cancer. I feel for all the woman who get any type of cancer, so that’s why I felt the big urge to be a part of this contest and show my support! I have to go to the doctor next month to check if I’m cancer free.”

She’s offering a set of pictures of herself for anyone who donates at least $10 to help victims of the disaster in Japan. She’s an animal lover, so you can donate to help either people or animals. In return, she’ll send you a set of sexy pictures. She also wants you to know that she has new pictures for everyone, so even if you think you’ve got the entire Kendra Collection, you will still receive never-before-seen pictures if you donate now.

What made you decide to do this?

Well, like everyone else, I’d been following the tragic events unfolding in Japan. I’ve always been told about what a beautiful country Japan is and how lovely the people are there. I knew I needed to contribute and did so right away.

However, one story really got to me. The story of the scared, cold, and dirty pooch who refused to leave his canine companion’s side. This dog’s dedication for his friend made me wonder how much we as humans are willing to endure while standing beside our own. At that point, I knew I needed to do more.

In an ideal world, we will quit allowing borders to create a separation of societies. We are all part of a global community and should reach out to one another. Especially in times of great need.

Do you have any sites you recommend people use to make donations?

There are many sites, but I recommend staying with those you know well and trust. It is always rewarding to give to organizations that hold personal meaning for you. Do you mind of other models jump in with offers of their own?

I think it would be great if the other models are able to contribute some of their time to the relief efforts as well. We benefit greatly from generous donations from giving benefactors,and we will hopefully never have to face such tragedy first hand. Regardless of what our individual situation is, we can each hopefully find a way to help. Every $, and ever contribution matters. And if you’re unable to donate money, then perhaps you can draw attention to the subject from time to time and keep reminding people that this will be a lengthy recovery process. This is not suffering that is going to end overnight. Japan will need sustained assistance.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Just simply that donating or contributing to relief efforts is a personal choice. My main goal in making this offer is to get people thinking about it, and hopefully coming up with ways they themselves can make a difference. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to shed some light on what I’m trying to do.

How it Works:

Take two (or more) canned food items to a local food bank (or anywhere that is collecting cans) and take a picture of yourself contributing your cans. Important: Your Model/Member ID must be in the photo (similar to fan signs) so that we can tally the entries.

There are food banks and/or collection facilities all over the world. They can be found with a simple Google search of your region + the word “food bank.”

For every photo entry we will contribute $1.00 toward a fund that will be awarded to one lucky MyFreeImplants member at the end of the drive. The award will be distributed to the members account and has no cash value. The winner will be chosen by lottery, so the more entries tied to your ID number, the better your chances are of winning (hint: get your friends involved for more entries!). And the more entries submitted, the larger the prize!

The rules are simple:

• Anyone can participate (even non-MFI members) but a Model/Member ID number must be somewhere in the photo to count as an entry.
• If your friends submit photos, make sure they include your ID number so you can get credit for the submission(s).

In the spirit of supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia and McGrath Foundation have launched an iPhone app called Dr. K’s Breast Checker in an effort to get more women conducting their self breast exams regularly.

Dr. Kath Giles (aka Dr. K) came up with the idea after realizing that not enough young women are aware of their breasts or checking them routinely. The app provides women with an easy and comfortable method to check their breasts and also serves as an automatic reminder for routine monthly check-ups.

“I saw an opportunity to help educate women on how to be more breast aware by developing an application with an interactive guide on how to do their breast checks, as well as a mechanism that helps track changes,” said Dr. K.

Early detection of breast changes gives women a better opportunity of successful treatment if the changes are related to breast cancer. Both Foundations hope that the app will lead to more women checking their breasts regularly and going to the doctor if changes occur.

The Dr. K’s Breast Checker app is available for download from the iTunes store, and $0.55 of each sale goes to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia and the McGrath Foundation.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is right around the corner and Surf Ride and Hansen’s will be hosting the First Annual Surf Ride vs. Hansen’s for Boobies Golf Tournament benefiting The Keep-A-Breast Foundation.

The Keep-A-Breast Foundation is a unique non-profit organization that creates plaster forms of the female torso customized by fine artists (and celebrities) and auctioned to raise funding for breast cancer research and education.
