Today we made payments for two UK ladies to have their PIP implants removed and replaced. This could not have been accomplished without the tireless fundraising of our friend Tina and her generous MFI supporters. Tina selflessly fundraised for women in great need while she personally was dealing with capsular contracture. Thus, we have invited Tina to create her own account and raise funds for a revision.

Although Tina’s pay if forward for PIP account will close, it was a successful endeavor. Fundraising for a charitable cause directly through MFI has never been done before. This was a watershed event and we appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience throughout the process. Allowing Tina to utilize MFI for a different outcome made a huge difference to two women in need (Rebecca and Sue). Below I’ve attached a letter of gratitude from Sue Coates, one of the women who will undergo surgery on June 13th, because of your assistance. We’ll conduct a follow up interview with both Sue and Rebecca after their operations.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hello MFI,

My name is Sue Coates, I am one of the ladies you have offered to help with the removal & replacement of PIP implants.

I found out in January of 2012 that I have PIP implants, and I must say the news came as a very big shock. After several letters from my local NHS hospital I was seen by a consultant, who offered no help at all. I was devestated and didn’t know where to turn.

I contacted a PIP implants help group on Facebook, where I met Antonia Mariconda, Tina, and other supporters. They offered assistance in getting a removal and replacement, which has been wonderful. I really dont know where I would be without the support of our small group of wonderful women.

As for my upcoming surgery, I cannot stress to you how greatful I am for your kind donations. This has been such a hard time for my family and I, but your generosity and Tina’s fundraising has made such a difference to us. I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I am an emotional girl but when I got the call telling me about your support I nearly fell off my chair. Honestly, I cried quite a lot, which is no surprise considering what was being offered to me.

What you are doing is a wonderful thing, and if there is anything I can do in return then please dont hesitate to ask.

Thank you again you are a truely wonderful people.

Over the past decade, tattoo artist Vincent “Vinnie” Myers has created three dimensional nipples and areolas for around 3000 women who have undergone breast cancer surgery.

Myers uses precisely mixed pigments that create a perfect three dimensional illusion of the real thing, which he says is “far more rewarding than anything else I have ever done.” The 49-year-old artist revealed to the AFP. “When it’s completed and they see the final results, most women feel very emotional because they realize: ‘The thing is over, I’m whole again.’”

Having spent the last ten years of his career concentrating on post-op cosmetic tattoos, Myers is truly amazing at what he does. You can view some examples (NSFW) of his reconstructive tattooing on his website here. He’s so good at what he does that he has recently been asked by the revered Johns Hopkins Hospital to work for its Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department.

Some hospitals also offer post-mastectomy tattoos, but Myers told the AFP they are typically carried out by nurses with no more than “a couple of days” training. It takes Myers about two hours to complete his work, during which he determines the color, the size, and the shape of the areolas of each patient.

We had dozens of quality entries to our Pink Photo Contest but unfortunately we can only pick three winners. The following ladies were selected based on the effort and creativity of their photos as well as their accompanying story.

The Grand Prize winner with $500 in her name to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure goes to SweetBunny

“My Grandmother died in her early 50′s from breast cancer when I was only about 10 years old. Out of nowhere she began to constantly be sick, and finally went to the doctor. After a complete physical, the doctor found cancer in her breasts. The most unfortunate part is if she would have had regular screenings, her cancer could have been easily treated. Instead, by the time it was caught, the cancer had already started to spread and she died within a year of her diagnosis. Because of the suffering I saw my Grandmother go through, I will never go without getting my regular physicals. Even though I joke that “I would probably notice a 3rd breast next to my mosquito bites,” deep down I know the importance of regular screenings. I’ve only had one family member die of this terrible disease, but One is One Too Many.”

The 2nd Prize winner of $300 to The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund goes to MissBoobyMoon

“My stepdaughter and I made this picture for the pink ribbon contest. I never had breast cancer, but last year I got another type of cancer. The day I turned 30 I got a letter to go to the doctor. After the visit my doctor called me very worried and told me I have to come to his office A.S.A.P.! The results were not good and I was very shocked to hear that I had cervical cancer. I feel for all the woman who get any type of cancer, so that’s why I felt the big urge to be a part of this contest and show my support! I have to go to the doctor next month to check if I’m cancer free.”

The 3rd Prize winner of $200 to Young Survival Coalition goes to KayDeeStafford

“I have taken the words Breast Cancer and crossed out the the letters R and S. When people look at this photo I want them to see the words BEAT CANCER rather than Breast Cancer. I want to remind everyone that with their continued help and support, we can defeat this illness. Cancer affects the lives of so many people, and sending out a positive message is important; not only to raise awareness and money, but also to give our support to those who are suffering and remind them they can beat this!”

Here at MFI, it comes in the shape of the beautiful Kendra. Kendra has been active on the site since joining the Hall of Fame nearly 3 years ago. She’s occasionally PIF’ed for other ladies, but now she’s paying it forward in a whole new way.

She’s offering a set of pictures of herself for anyone who donates at least $10 to help victims of the disaster in Japan. She’s an animal lover, so you can donate to help either people or animals. In return, she’ll send you a set of sexy pictures. She also wants you to know that she has new pictures for everyone, so even if you think you’ve got the entire Kendra Collection, you will still receive never-before-seen pictures if you donate now.

What made you decide to do this?

Well, like everyone else, I’d been following the tragic events unfolding in Japan. I’ve always been told about what a beautiful country Japan is and how lovely the people are there. I knew I needed to contribute and did so right away.

However, one story really got to me. The story of the scared, cold, and dirty pooch who refused to leave his canine companion’s side. This dog’s dedication for his friend made me wonder how much we as humans are willing to endure while standing beside our own. At that point, I knew I needed to do more.

In an ideal world, we will quit allowing borders to create a separation of societies. We are all part of a global community and should reach out to one another. Especially in times of great need.

Do you have any sites you recommend people use to make donations?

There are many sites, but I recommend staying with those you know well and trust. It is always rewarding to give to organizations that hold personal meaning for you. However, I found this great site that is a link to many of the most widely recognized and respected relief organizations: www1.networkforgood.org/help-survivors-pacific-quake-tsunami

To help provide relief for misplaced pets, here is a link to several organizations providing care and aid for the animals of Japan: care2.org/greenliving/help-japans-animals.html

Do you mind of other models jump in with offers of their own?

I think it would be great if the other models are able to contribute some of their time to the relief efforts as well. We benefit greatly from generous donations from giving benefactors, and we will hopefully never have to face such tragedy first hand. Regardless of what our individual situation is, we can each hopefully find a way to help. Every $, and ever contribution matters. And if you’re unable to donate money, then perhaps you can draw attention to the subject from time to time and keep reminding people that this will be a lengthy recovery process. This is not suffering that is going to end overnight. Japan will need sustained assistance.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Just simply that donating or contributing to relief efforts is a personal choice. My main goal in making this offer is to get people thinking about it, and hopefully coming up with ways they themselves can make a difference. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to shed some light on what I’m trying to do.

(Editor’s Note: As part of my “research” for this article, I took Kendra up on her offer. If you didn’t get a warm feeling from donating, Kendra’s sexy pictures will certainly heat things up.

Tis the season for giving… AND receiving! Help give back this year with our first annual “Give Two Cans to Get Cans” drive to help those in need. In exchange for your efforts, you have the chance to win some MFI boob bucks!

How it Works:

Take two (or more) canned food items to a local food bank (or anywhere that is collecting cans) and take a picture of yourself contributing your cans. Important: Your Model/Member ID must be in the photo (similar to fan signs) so that we can tally the entries.

Example:

(Don’t forget your ID number!)

There are food banks and/or collection facilities all over the world. They can be found with a simple Google search of your region + the word “food bank.”

For every photo entry we will contribute $1.00 toward a fund that will be awarded to one lucky MyFreeImplants member at the end of the drive. The award will be distributed to the members account and has no cash value. The winner will be chosen by lottery, so the more entries tied to your ID number, the better your chances are of winning (hint: get your friends involved for more entries!). And the more entries submitted, the larger the prize!

The rules are simple:

Anyone can participate (even non-MFI members) but a Model/Member ID number must be somewhere in the photo to count as an entry.

If your friends submit photos, make sure they include your ID number so you can get credit for the submission(s).

You can enter as many times as you’d like, but each photo must be with different cans being donated.

The photos must be uploaded via the upload widget below, otherwise they will not be counted.

The contest ends January 1st, 2011 and the winner will be announced the following day.

The challenge is on, so gather your friends and get your cans (and your canned foods too!) out there to have some fun giving back this holiday season with MFI

Please upload your photo entries directly using this widget:

If you didn’t see our previous post, we’ve set up an MFI team page to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. We’re at the half way point in October and we’re only at 14% of our direct goal. This being the case, we had a great idea from a member of the community. Why not encourage HOFers to PIF for a donation to Susan G. Komen? Obviously, PIF’n for other women in the community is awesome too, but for those of you interested, this would be a way to increase our support for breast cancer research. Additional ideas for hitting our goal are welcome too!

Breast cancer has affected millions of women and men, their families, friends, jobs, and communities. It has struck approximately 1.3 million women worldwide. No gift is too small and together we can make a difference.

We appreciate everyone’s support thus far!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and since our founding, we’ve donated thousands of dollars to breast cancer research through a variety of charitable organizations. For the 25th anniversary of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) we’ve teamed up with Susan G. Komen for the cure, the largest breast cancer charity in the world. We chose Komen for their historical track record and because they are one of the most efficient non-profits in the world, with 85% of donations going directly to programs.

There are two ways for you to help:

1) Donate to women on MyFreeImplants! Our company will be gifting 10% of October earnings directly to Susan G. Komen. Help women here get boobies and help others save them! It’s a win-win.

2) Click on the pink banners on the site and make a donation directly to our team page on the Komen website. This is a great solution for those who are not donors on MFI.

Breast cancer has affected millions of women and men, their families, friends, jobs, and communities. It has struck approximately 1.3 million women worldwide. No gift is too small and together we can make a difference.
