This is a great start to some fixes, and I think it’s wonderful to offer the breast lifts as well. By fat transfer I assume that means from one area (maybe butt or thigh) to the breast? Also, I’m with Drone on wondering if or when a choice of free vs paid (or even a counter on the paid messages) will be available.

When exactly will these updates be made and should we expect down time or delays?

Roughly 12pm EST this Friday we plan to begin the rollout. You may be logged out of the site at that time and have to log back in, but other than that the downtime should be minimal.

Cool to hear that breasts lifts and fat transfers are now added to the site. Is this a start of “other surgeries”, such as rhinoplasty?

@ Joleigh This is a minor change to allow those who want breast augmentation more options. Non-breast surgeries are a whole other can of worms. Right now we’re focused on continuing to fix and update the website.

Fat transfers aren’t yet approved by the FDA, and tend to result in chunky breasts since a portion of the fat is re-absorbed by the body.

But I’m glad women can get lifts without implants if they’d like.

I agree with Drone though. I’m sad there’s no focus on one of the main issues with free vs paid messages.

I say you open up that can of worms…one day(I know you guys are busy)

    :P

What about the whole “stem cell breast augmentation”?

Once that can of worms does get opened, I’ve always wanted a personality transplant, reckon you could sort that for me Jay?

I would like the words ‘worm’ and ‘transplant’ to be as far from each other as possible.

Also, cool to see updates are still happening. Even though I’m still AWOL.

@ Alex Lady: The FDA does not approve medical procedures, just medical devices and technologies. The FDA has approved a number of technologies related to fat transfers for breast augmentation (including smart lipo and stem cell harvesting), and the others are under evaluation.

The important governing body (IMO) is the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). They concluded the procedure seems to be effective and severe complications “appear to be extremely rare.” Therefore, the ASPS decided to allow surgeons to use their personal and professional judgment in deciding whether to perform the procedure. If a woman on MFI feels comfortable with a surgeon she chooses to complete this procedure, she should have the choice to fund the procedure.

You are correct about mixed results. The biggest problem I hear from patients is the absorbing of fat by the body creating a loss of volume over time. Although, some doctors are now claiming 80% retention, which is a significant improvement over initial trials.

@ Denis: I can’t promise you’ll get the personality you’ve always wanted, but we’ll do our best!

@ J Coverman: We get a lot of requests to build penis enlargement websites. Does this mean you won’t be a contributor?
