It took Becky just about 9 months to reach her goal of $6,700.
- When was your surgery?
My surgery was December 16th… 8 weeks ago! - How did you bring up MFI with your doctor?
I first asked on the phone, then when I came in brought brochure and explained it all the best I could they were very willing to give it a shot! - How did your doctor feel about MFI?
They found the idea very interesting and asked me lots of questions. - Did you doctor have you do anything pre-surgery to help make things easier?
Told me to get all my meds ready, get my house ready, and start taking vitamin c to promote healing. - Did you do anything pre-surgery that was recommended on the internet or by other women?
I bought lots of easy meals for hubby to make kids, got all laundry washed and made sure I had no plans that week… kid appointments or anything. - How big are your implants and what kind are they (saline, silicon, profile, etc)?
I got 375 cc memory gel (new silicone) they are high profile, my chest was too small for any other profile. - How were they implanted (over muscle, under, incision type etc)? Why did you choose that method?
They are under the muscle and areola incision. I chose under because I didn’t have a lot of boobie tissue lol and chose the nipple incision because it just seemed right. - How did you decide how big to go and what type of implants to get?
Well my doc had me bring in pictures of boobs that were too small, perfect, and too big…so he hung those up during surgery and tried to make them just like the pic. I got mentor memory gel. - How long after surgery were you in pain?
The worst of it was 3 days..then mild pain for a week about and then pretty much no pain after two weeks… just tender
- Did you need someone to help you with normal tasks after surgery? If so, what did they do?
The first 3 days I stayed in bed..hubby did everything! Kids..cleaning..making sure I took all my meds on time, getting me in and out of bed! He was so helpful:) - Did your doctor have any post-surgery advice that really seemed to help with your recovery and/or scar reduction?
I wasn’t allowed to wear a bra for 3 weeks or sleep on back for 6 weeks. After the stitches were out he had me use peroxide and polysporin 3 times a day. He told me I could use vitamin e now but I haven’t bought any yet, I cant see any scars! - Did you do anything else post-surgery that really helped with your recovery?
Well took all my drugs on time…lol and my husband just helped with everything…he had a week off work so he did it all. - How long before you could resume normal activity?
I was cleaning up house a little after a week, but it wasn’t easy. After 2 weeks I was pretty normal but a few things were difficult. I’d say after 4 weeks I was totally normal, back to work then too! - What was your biggest surprise post-surgery?
That my boobs looked so awesome! I loved ‘em day 1! I never any bad swelling and they weren’t too high. - How closely did you follow your doctor’s advice?
I did everything he said…except sleep on my back for 6 weeks! That was too hard! I only did it a week consistently then about 3 weeks on and off lol. - What did you do to get your home ready for your recovery?
Canceled all appointments, hubby scheduled off work, washed all the kids clothes, bought easy meals – lots of snack things, got my room nice and clean so I wouldn’t feel cluttered! - Anything you wish you’d done differently?
Not really. I should have slept on my back the whole time but so far I see no problems. Other than that I was a good girl:) - Where there any activities that were surprisingly difficult or painful?
I couldn’t vacuum for forever! Pulling pants up and down, getting up from bed… - Was there anything you did that turned out to be surprisingly helpful?
Uumm…just having my husband there. I didn’t think he’d help me so much! - How did your first “public appearance” with your new boobs go? Any advice for others?
I haven’t showed them off at all yet. It’s winter and I’m shy lol… - Did you find any sites with really good advice on any part of the implant process?
I looked at soo many, but most were the same old stuff I already knew… common sense goes a long way. - Have you had any complications?
Nope! Not yet!! I’m 100% pleased!
:) - Anything else you’d like to mention?
Just that I was sooo nervous to have the surgery, I almost backed out! I was worried they’d look weird, feel weird, feel creepy to have inside me…but since I came off the drugs lol they have just been MY boobs!! Nothing weird and I’m soo happy I did it!
Thank you so much to all my friends here! You were all soo awesome! Especially those of you who I still talk to here each day!!
YOU CAN DO IT GIRLS!!!!
:):):)

This, of course, is an after.
This is not medical advice. This is advice from a woman who has had implant surgery. You should also ask your doctor as every person is different and you can’t be sure that your situation is the same as anyone else’s. If you’ve had surgery and would like to answer these questions, drop me a line, I’d love to include you.

Congrats Becky!
You are getting exactly what I want and was told would be appropriate for my frame. And also, I was skeptical about doing the periareolar incision, which was recommended because I’d be worried that it would scar and my nipples wouldnt blend with my skin. But you’ve helped reassure me that it should look good
Again, congrats and your making me that much more anxious to get mine!
I’m surprised that no other ladies have asked to borrow your husband for their recovery… He sounds immensely helpful!
If he cleans windows, can he come over to my place sometime?
thank you all!!

hey Becky I was also thinking about doing the nipple incision as well and you have reassured me on the scarring but what about the numbness…I am totally worried about nerve damage.
