This weekends new feature is called “My Opinions” and is a way to share with people what you like, and what you dislike, as well as find other people that share your opinions. It’s similar in some ways to other websites that have a “Favorite TV Shows” or “Favorite Books” lists that you are probably all familiar with. The main difference in our implementation is that there are no structured categories to force you into a box (what if I don’t watch TV?). There are simply two lists: Likes & Dislikes and you can add anything you want (30 character limit) into either of the lists.
In addition to creating your own lists, you can borrow from other peoples lists. So say for example you are viewing someone elses profile and see something in their dislikes list that you also dislike. You can click on the negative symbol “-” next to the word to also dislike it, or similarly if you actually like it, just click the positive symbol “+”
And finally, clicking on any of the words in any lists you come across will run a search for all of the people that share that same opinion. So if a lot of people here like “boobs” for example, and you click on the word “boobs” in someones “Likes” list, you’ll get a list of all the people that also like boobs.

We see one important use of this new feature as a way for people to clearly define what they are and are not willing to do on this site. This site has a very diverse group of people with a very diverse set of interests and expectations. Hopefully through the use of this tool you can now easily find the right group of people for you to becomes closer friends with.

This is great, since I have already been telling gals they should post blogs so benes can see their interests and personalities, as along with a good About Me/Bio and being available for chat, and decent pics is vital for success on MFI.
Just one questions… How do you delete items from your list? I also notice it doesn’t psot when you use certain characters like “&”…
Nice. But how do i delete something i have added. I do not mean to move it from my likes to dislikes or vice versa. Just delete it because it was wrong or misspelled?

If you are using Windows, try going to http://www.java.com and check if you have the latest java software update where it says “Do I Have Java?” If you get the “Oops!” message, download the update.Also, get the free utility at http://www.ccleaner.com It clears out all your browser junk fast and easy form all browsers you may have at the same time as long as you close them before you run it.Moderator edit: We don’t actually require Java for any of MFI. JavaScript is require, and is a different technology thatn Java. JavaScript is enabled by default in all modern browsers.
If you are using Internet Explorer, AKA IE, it is highly advised to only use it for sites that only work with IE and for MicroSoft/Windows update, and use another browser like Mozilla Firefox, Flock Opera, Google Chrome or Apple Safari For Windows as our default and/or alternate/back up browsers.
Though no browser is perfect, IE has been found to have numerous glitches and major security holes, and Firefox and the others tend to patch their security flaws promptly after discovery.
You may also want to go yo http://www.adobe.com and search Version Test For Flash Player and note the version number, then fo back to the home page, click on Get Adobe Flash Player and download the update is if is lower than the present version.
Your post here is relevant to the problem, but you should also go to either the Help Link above or the Contact Us link below to report technical problems in the drop down menu of the Contact for at the bottom so that it gets a documented case number and they can investigate the problem.
I am having the same problemS…with being able to erase due to mispelling (my spelling sucks) …amd also with the Java…well they are probably still working out the kinks…but hey Im loving it so far

Also fixed the bug with items that included the & character.
I do not know how to explain this or if it is even a bug. But in the video above the words “Like” and “Dislike” are two columns, but on my profile and all the other ladies profiles i have checked the words Like and Dislike are sorted in rows. It looks better as it is in the video. But not a big deal really
@CCR, clear your browsers cache, it’s sounds like it has not loaded the latest version of the style sheet code.

In finding this for the first time today, trying to check it out, play around with it, etc. it’s not working for me. On my profile, I just see the two categories ‘stacked’ (excuse the expression) not side-by-side (cleavage-style?). Using the add-new-item box thingy does nothing that displays on my screen, although it might be there nonetheless, and I’m just not seeing anything show up.
I’ve scanned through multiple profiles as well, and none had any up that I could see, and they also had the stacked display format.
I’ve cleared the cache (on two different comps) and even restarted the computer — it still does nothing.
Seems to me though, there was another update that did nothing for 24 to 36 hours and then suddenly worked without any trouble… We’ll see if history repeats…
Cool idea, though.
@J Coverman: It sounds like you have a browser setting that’s preventing you from seeing the latest. I know Internet Explorer has a setting called “Check for newer version of stored pages” that depending on what it’s set to can prevent the latest version of showing up. Obviously we recommend Firefox as MFI is optimized for Firefox.
Firefox 3.6 is pretty fast now, provided everything with your comptuer, internet connection and the website servers are functioning normally. For Windows users, that ccleaner does wonders clearing out all the browser junk fast and easy, all browsers as long as you have them closed when you run it. I use it often when I am on my PCs, to me, one of the best free Windows utilities around.

I did have to upgrade from Firefox 2.5 (I think) to 3.6 in order for it to work correctly. Not a fan of the visuals of 3.6 though. Give me something simple that works and I am happy. I’m a function over form kind of guy.

I am adding likes and dislikes…but do not see them on my profile… why is that? I seee the box to +/- but not my lists…. hmmmm
Great feature.
However, when I added added some likes & dislikes, only one showed up but now I have nothing-no likes or dislikes & I added a few.
Why is that? Could I have accidentally pressed something I shouldn’t have without realizing it(delete)?
Or could my connection have been bad at the time?(I do have wireless).
Not sure what’s wrong with mine but it sounds like a great feature in that you can see if people have similar things in common with you before making contact so you can make friends those who are on a similar level to you & not have to get to know people who are in to opposite things.
Would be good to get mine working though,lol.

well imnew to MFI and just getting started ,but allready am having a blast. i think that this new feature will really benifit matching the girls with the right group. i cant wait to get further into the site.
