Yankee Girl took just over four months to reach her goal of $6,020. This is one of her before pictures.

  1. When was your surgery?
    6/6/2008
  2. How did you bring up MFI with your doctor?
I just told him I got donation from a site that was gonna pay for it.. And gave him the pamphlet..
  3. How did your doctor feel about MFI?
My Doctor was okay it was his secretary that wasn’t…
  4. Did you doctor have you do anything pre-surgery to help make things easier?
I didn’t have time to do my pre-op they had a cancellation so I had surgery too quick for it…
  5. Did you do anything pre-surgery that was recommended on the internet or by other women?
LOL Yes I bought a pound bag of peas and froze them into 4 zip lock bags but that’s about it (:
  6. How big are your implants and what kind are they (saline, silicon, profile, etc)?
    D’s And thay are silicone..
  7. How were they implanted (over muscle, under, incision type etc)? Why did you choose that method?
Under the muscle & because they said it would make them feel and look more real and they do most can’t tell I have implants..
  8. How did you decide how big to go and what type of implants to get?
When I talked to my doctor he said the size he thought would be good for my body and I decided on silicone cause they ripple a lot less and look more real not fake…
  9. How long after surgery were you in pain?
    About a week a VERY LONG WEEK…
  10. Did you need someone to help you with normal tasks after surgery?
Yes because it hurt to much to pick up my arms…
  11. If so, what did they do?
    Everything
  12. Did your doctor have any post-surgery advice that really seemed to help with your recovery and/or scar reduction?
Well the scar doesn’t look so good but yes he told me to get Mederma for the scar to heal right..
  13. Did you do anything else post-surgery that really helped with your recovery?
    No
  14. How long before you could resume normal activity?
    Six weeks…
  15. What was your biggest surprise post-surgery?
    How good they looked..
  16. How closely did you follow your doctor’s advice?
As closely as I could.. No heavy lifting was the one I fallowed the most…
  17. What did you do to get your home ready for your recovery?
Just cleaned it real good that way I wouldn’t have such a mess for the fallowing week…
  18. Anything you wish you’d done differently?
    I wish I would’ve went bigger..
  19. Where there any activities that were surprisingly difficult or painful?
After surgery everything was bad even turning over in bed but the most that was surprisingly difficult was just raising my hand above my head still have a hard time doing that..
  20. Was there anything you did that turned out to be surprisingly helpful?
Just the peas was the only thing that helped a lot..
  21. How did your first “public appearance” with your new boobs go?
Well working with a lot of guy it went mostly like can I see them lol… No was my answer of course (:
  22. Any advice for others?
Just make sure you really want the size you are getting cause I have learned that most girls always want bigger not smaller…
  23. Did you find any sites with really good advice on any part of the implant process?
    Youtube was really helpful…
  24. Have you had any complications?
Yes one doesn’t feel right in the pocket but seeing the doctor isn’t as easy seeing when your not paying anymore…
  25. Anything else you’d like to mention?
Ladies just make sure this is something you have thought about seriously cause it’s not an easy surgery to have and I just think you really need to make sure you know what your getting into before you waist your time and the really sweet guys here… And also good luck to the ones that do get them…

And this is obviously an after.
This is not medical advice. This is advice from a woman who has had implant surgery. You should also ask your doctor as every person is different and you can’t be sure that your situation is the same as anyone elses. If you’ve had surgery and would like to answer these questions, drop me a line, I’d love to include you.

    You look absolutely amazing!
Quick question though – Did your donations cover just the surgery or did it also cover the check up appointments after the surgery was done?
