First Person Surgery: Sweet Lola
by Drone on November 23rd, 2009
Lola took about a month to reach her goal of roughly $4,700. Here is one of her before pictures.
- When was your surgery?
July 24th, 2008. - How did you bring up MFI with your doctor?
When I called to schedule the consult, I immediately asked. I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. - How did your doctor feel about MFI?
Initially they were fine with it. Shortly after, they changed their minds. I spoke to the J’s and they really helped me out. They have options
- Did you doctor have you do anything pre-surgery to help make things easier?
He gave me a pamphlet to look over with a lot of useful information. - Did you do anything pre-surgery that was recommended on the internet or by other women?
Hmm, not that I can think of. I was on an implant forum just researching a lot. - How big are your implants and what kind are they (saline, silicon, profile, etc)?
My implants are 800ccs (each side), smooth, round, silicone, High Profile. The company which made them is called Natrelle. - How were they implanted (over muscle, under, incision type etc)?
The were implanted via the crease, under the muscle. - Why did you choose that method?
Because the implants were large & silicone, I didn’t have many options. - How did you decide how big to go and what type of implants to get?
I was dead set on saline until I went to my consult. I decided silicone because when I held the saline, it did not compare at all! My close friend said, “You get what you pay for!”. As for size, I chose the amount of ccs because I wanted to go as big as I possibly could with one procedure. - How long after surgery were you in pain?
About 2 weeks or so. Again, mine were larger than most. My Dr. told me to take it easy for as long as I needed to. The 2nd day post-op was the worst day. The anesthesia wore off! - Did you need someone to help you with normal tasks after surgery? If so, what did they do?
Yes, I needed help with everything. I couldn’t drive, wash my own hair, shave, lift my kids, or even clean for about 2 weeks. - Did your doctor have any post-surgery advice that really seemed to help with your recovery and/or scar reduction?
He told me not to go tanning and to put ScarGuard on the incision after the site was no longer pink. - Did you do anything else post-surgery that really helped with your recovery?
The most important thing I learned was pain management. My Dr. told me to take the pain meds. as prescribed and I did. After 4 days, I no longer needed the pain meds. - ow long before you could resume normal activity?
I went to a wedding 2 days after my surgery.
- What was your biggest surprise post-surgery?
I was surprised at how quickly I healed. - How closely did you follow your doctor’s advice?
I followed it as closely as I could. Plastic surgery is no joke. Even though I paid close attention, one of my stitches still popped open. I had to go back to have the Dr. pull it out
- What did you do to get your home ready for your recovery?
I slept as much as I could. - Anything you wish you’d done differently?
Not at all! - Where there any activities that were surprisingly difficult or painful?
I remember not being able to vacuum or put things on shelves in the kitchen. - Was there anything you did that turned out to be surprisingly helpful?
I put bags of frozen peas on my breasts post-op. it was great! The bags molded to my body. - How did your first “public appearance” with your new boobs go? Any advice for others?
I forgot I had them and knocked lots of things over. I was somewhat shy when I got them and tried to cover them up. - Did you find any sites with really good advice on any part of the implant process?
Yes, there are many implant forums on the web. - Have you had any complications?
Other than the stitch popping, I didn’t. - Anything else you’d like to mention?
This may sound gross, but someone has to say it– get some laxative before your surgery! The anesthesia and pain meds. constipate you.
And this, of course, is an after.
This is not medical advice. This is advice from a woman who has had implant surgery. You should also ask your doctor as every person is different and you can’t be sure tht your situation is the same as anyone elses. If you’ve had surgery and would like to answer these questions, drop me a line, I’d love to include you.

You looke GREAT!!! I didnt even know you could go that big in one surgery! What size are you?
I am going silicone. I am small but my boobies were stretched from childbirth. Everyone says a small D would be to big for me but I dont think so. I thought he just couldnt fit that much in…
Did you just tell the doc make em as big as you can? how did you decide on size?

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the compliments!! Penny, I can’t wait to see you in Hooterville with me
I told the Dr. to go as big as he could- he recommended going smaller but I wouldn’t have it. I did the rice test as well. It’s not 100% accurate, but fun to try. When he did digital imaging on the day of surgery, I didn’t like the results with 650ccs. He had a pair of 800ccs sitting in his office and asked me if I wanted them– I said if they fit, yes! Right now, my size is hard to determine because different brands mean different sizes. Also, it is hard to find sizes because my band is a 32. I feel comfortable in 34F (from Fredericks). 34DDs fit snuggly. I’ve tried 36D/DD but the band is way too big.
Go with the size you want because you are the one who has a vision of what you want to look like!!
My Dr. is AMAZING. To anyone in Ohio– contact me so I can tell you where to find him. I LOVE his work
No complaints!!
