- When was your surgery?
11-04-08 - How did you bring up MFI with your doctor?
I brought it up to my case worker and she said as long as the money was good they didn’t care where it came from. - How did your doctor feel about MFI?
He really never did even mention it to me. - Did you doctor have you do anything pre-surgery to help make things easier?
He gave me some Medication to help me relax. - Did you do anything pre-surgery that was recommended on the internet or by other women?
No - How big are your implants and what kind are they (saline, silicon, profile, etc)?
I went with 275 CC Saline. I wanted more of a natural look and not something that stood out so everyone who saw me would know they were implants. - How were they implanted (over muscle, under, incision type etc)?
Under the muscle and right under each breast. - Why did you choose that method?
That was his method of doing it. - How did you decide how big to go and what type of implants to get?
I discussed it with friends, family of of course, my husband and all told me I should make the decision since I was the one doing it and whatever made me happy everyone else should be fine with. I wanted something that would fit my small frame and look natural on me. - How long after surgery were you in pain?
About 3-4 days really bad but after that, it slowly started feeling back to normal. - Did you need someone to help you with normal tasks after surgery?
No, not really. My sister did come and stay with me but other than doing the cooking and cleaning, I did the rest. If so, what did they do? - Did your doctor have any post-surgery advice that really seemed to help with your recovery and/or scar reduction?
He suggested not to do any lifting and believe me, if you do, you will know why, LOL. - Did you do anything else post-surgery that really helped with your recovery?
Just plenty of rest. - How long before you could resume normal activity?
I do house cleaning and I returned to light duty work the very next week. I didn’t lift anything but most other things I had no trouble doing. - What was your biggest surprise post-surgery?
My biggest surprise came when my husband took me in front of a mirror and I got to see them for the first time. My eyes about popped out of my head when I saw how big they were. My first reaction was, I think I went to big. But I forgot about the swelling of course and they soon came back to the size they are now. - How closely did you follow your doctor’s advice?
Almost to the letter. - What did you do to get your home ready for your recovery?.
Nothing really. You really dont need to make any big changes around your home. - Anything you wish you’d done differently?
Well, with it being almost a full year now. I guess I’m like most and do wish I had went maybe one size bigger but no more. - Where there any activities that were surprisingly difficult or painful?
Yes, lifting or raising your arms above your head. - Was there anything you did that turned out to be surprisingly helpful?
Take the MEDs, LOL - How did your first “public appearance” with your new boobs go?
My first several pubic appearances were of course without a bra so they were very well covered up but my first with actual cleavage showing made me feel just a little embrassed. I had never had anything to show before so seeing men staring at me knowing what they were staring at felt really strange. - Any advice for others?
Just always be yourself and do whatever feels comfortable with you. - Did you find any sites with really good advice on any part of the implant process?
No - Have you had any complications?
So far, none at all.
And this, of course, is an after.
This is not medical advice. This is advice from a woman who has had implant surgery. You should also ask your doctor as every person is different and you can’t be sure tht your situation is the same as anyone elses. If you’ve had surgery and would like to answer these questions, drop me a line, I’d love to include you.
