First Person Surgery: Becca
by Drone on November 19th, 2009
it took Becca about 7 months to raise just over $5,000. Here’s one of her before pics.
- When was your surgery?
july 30, 2009 - How did you bring up MFI with your doctor?
I waited until I was ready to schedule the surgery and then talked about how I was going to pay and how hard I had worked to get to my goal of having dream boobies. - How did your doctor feel about MFI?
He was hesitant at first and then was happy for me. - Did you doctor have you do anything pre-surgery to help make things easier?
Yes, I started taking vitamins 2 weeks prior and he let me asks loads of questions. - Did you do anything pre-surgery that was recommended on the internet or by other women?
I started Arnica a few days prior and got all my goodies ready. - How big are your implants and what kind are they (saline, silicon, profile, etc)?
I have 450cc silicone - How were they implanted (over muscle, under, incision type etc)?
Over the muscle and crease incision. - Why did you choose that method?
I wanted fuller breasts and a natural look. I also wanted an easier recovery period too. - How did you decide how big to go and what type of implants to get?
I always wanted silicone because of the feel and as for size, well, I changed my mind alot!! I tried on sizers and kept doing research until I found what I wanted. - How long after surgery were you in pain?
The first 3 days were tough but after that a breeze - Did you need someone to help you with normal tasks after surgery? If so, what did they do?
Yes. Kept the house clean and cooked - Did your doctor have any post-surgery advice that really seemed to help with your recovery and/or scar reduction?
The Arnica and using ice packs - Did you do anything else post-surgery that really helped with your recovery?
Lots of rest. It took me a good 5-6 weeks to get my energy back and I didn’t do anything that would be a problem. - How long before you could resume normal activity?
I went back to work about 4 days after but didn’t do any lifting or such for 6 weeks - What was your biggest surprise post-surgery?
The swelling and tightness and how tired I really was. - How closely did you follow your doctor’s advice?
To the “T” - What did you do to get your home ready for your recovery?
Cleaned and grocery shopped. Lots of pillows, LOL - Anything you wish you’d done differently?
I wish I had gone bigger than I am now. My advice…If your in question GO BIGGER! - Where there any activities that were surprisingly difficult or painful?
The small things like opening a soda can or moving a blanket. - Was there anything you did that turned out to be surprisingly helpful?
Ice packs and pillows. The Arnica tablets and cream also helped alot with no bruising. Use lots of lotion too. It makes the breasts feel better since they are swollen. - How did your first “public appearance” with your new boobs go? Any advice for others?
Supurb!!! Rest, follow your docs advice, find a great fitting sports bra and wear it. Use lots of ice packs and enjoy - Did you find any sites with really good advice on any part of the implant process?
JBI(JustBreastImplants) - Have you had any complications?
I had a small incision infection but that cleared nicely - Anything else you’d like to mention?
I am so happy with my new breasts! Take your time, research and make sure you know what you want. Don’t let the doctor tell you what you want.
And this is obviously an after.
This is not medical advice. This is advice from a woman who has had implant surgery. You should also ask your doctor as every person is different and you can’t be sure tht your situation is the same as anyone elses. If you’ve had surgery and would like to answer these questions, drop me a line, I’d love to include you.
