Is there any chance that we could have the choice to create a wishlist that is not posted publicly?

In other words, one that could be shared with friends if I choose to share it?

CHAT - Great!

WebCam - Maybe some day in the future...

Wishlist - Will some abuse them? Yes. But I'm one who asked friends who are against wishlists to create one. I want to be able to send my friends a small token of thanks for the privilege of sharing their journey to Hooterville. I won't spend much on wishlist items. My budget for the boob bank won't change either. Go ahead and dream big.

Here I sit and am wondering why the ladies are being penalized for wishing? Hoping for things that maybe, just maybe, they can't buy for themselves or that they could but the money can go for things like rent or a utility bill that must taken care of. I, myself, do have things that I wish for and I have two wish lists. One is strictly for MFI for things that I would love to have ONLY for myself. The other is for things that I would love to buy and one day, I will.
I have never begged for donations or "things". It is beneath me! My friends have REQUESTED that I do my wish list for MFI. I have no intention on asking or requesting that they purchase me anything. They wanted to know simply what I would wish for. And since I am getting my big girls, I am going to need a new wardrobe. I will buy the lingerie that I want one day, a little at a time but if they wanted to know what I would wear, I put it down in my list. I did put on my wish list that I would love to have plants after my surgery. However, the reason is because I want something that doesn't die in a few days. And when I look at it, I will remember who thought of me enough to send it. A flower plucked dies in a matter of days but a plant can be grown for years and looked upon with loving memories.
I have to be perfectly honest, I would rather that they just be what they have always been, my friends! No more than that!

you know, if they have 5000 dollars handbags, then good luck to them, says a lot about the person. i'm not sure it cheapens the site in reality, what it does do is give the site a bad image, and may put off potential benefactors. lets face it, many of us are here because of the general friendlyness and bonhommie that abounds.

one of the reasons that this news item has 66 posts, is because we want that feeling to continue. we dont want this site to become money grabbing and transactional. However at the same time, if there are wishlists and they are above board, i dont think it is anyones business whats on them. we allow wishlists, then we allow them! period

and i cant see how a banning of mentionning wishlists in blogs would be a good idea, how can you have a feature of the site, one that may well become a main expenditure stream of many benefactors, and then treat it like an open secret.

we either embrace the wishlists, or we dont, the blog rules are fine as they stand, they allow for open talk without anything getting out of hand.

Considered it? Yes. Spent time on it? No.

We hate being police and cracking down on people. And we hate censoring people. I'd rather not spend my time worrying about abuse. I'd rather focus on more productive things. Do I think about it? Yes. Does it concern me? Yes. But I'm not going to dwell on it. The vast majority of people are good, so it hardly benefits anyone to spend an inordinate amount of time planning for dooms day scenarios.

I agree with Jim, and have so mentioned a couple of times. I feel like it has no place in the public eye. I feel it should be reinforced with repercussions some way. If someone brags about so and so get her this or that....it is going to stir trouble. I don't really have a problem with what a model added to their list, I mean it IS a wishlist...and it says ITEM DESIRED....so yea a $5000 handbag is definitely a desire. It does not necessarily mean it will ever be purchased. I have revised my list quite a few times, its been fun to PC window shop :) and ya know how much women LOVE stuff! Alot on mine will be purchased by myself because of the great bargains.

One question I DO have.....unless someone tells us they are the one that purchased it, is there any way to KNOW who did?? I have one item no one has yet to reveal as their gift to me....maybe some want to remain anonymous.

Another thought: has any consideration been made about not allowing the mention of wishlists in public blogs, as well as not allowing women who publicly blog to have the word "wishlist" in their name. It seems that with these blogs going out to the world, it cheapens the site, and if any prospective surgeons come on to check out the site, and look at some of the wish lists with $5000 handbags, $4000 flat panels TVs, dildos, they are going to get the wrong impression about the site. Also, consideration on policing the wishlists for the same reason?
