Zometa is used to help fight bone loss treatment for breast cancer. One common treatment for some cancers is hormone-blocking therapy which can slow the growth of some cancers. One side effect is that it can cause bone loss which is prevented by Zometa.
Doctor’s already performed one study and proved it had a benefit for breast cancer. They are now conducting a larger scale study which may result in using Zometa to combat other types of cancer which frequently metastatize into bone cancers.
